A Real Estate Traineeship, or Certificate IV in Property Services (Real Estate) is a qualification from the current Real Estate Training Package CPP 40307, this goes above and beyond the current Certificate and Licencing requirements for Real Estate Agents in Queensland. There are Government incentives available to employers when putting on a trainee. The first step is to ascertain the eligibility of trainees. Usually trainees are eligible if they have no previous qualifications, although, there are some exemptions to this, and most qualifications completed whilst at school will not affect employer funding.
Funding is paid as follows:-1st payment $1500 at 6 months
2nd payment $2500 at completion (minimum 6 months - 2 years max)
Further to the existing incentive payment funding (as above) the Government has extended the Boosting Apprenticeships wage subsidy (effective from 5th October 2020 to 30th September 2021).
The Morrison Government will invest an additional $1.2 billion to support Australian businesses to employ new apprentices or trainees as part of our COVID-19 economic recovery plan.
Under the now extended measures, employers will be eligible for 50 per cent of the wages for a 12 month period, for a new* or recommencing apprentice or trainee for the period up to 30 September 2021, which means up to $7,000 per quarter.
More information is available here. If you are thinking about putting on a new apprentice or trainee, now is the time. (*New means a brand new employee or someone you have employed in the last three (3) months)
Traineeships can be Full time, Part-time or School-based. If completing as a school-based traineeship, the trainee must undertake a minimum 100 days (750 hours) paid employment (50 days per year, over 2 years).
