CPD with Complete Property Training

CPD with Complete Property Training

Continuing professional development (CPD) is mandatory for all Queensland property professionals. Our CPD sessions are practical, engaging and led by experienced real estate professionals, so you learn from people who understand the industry.

How it works
CPT offers two (2) models to suit either individuals or corporate groups. If you are an individual, please access the following link to book your CPD sessions – CPD Individual

If you are and Agency, and looking to book a large group, please complete the EOI at the end of this page.

What is a “CPD Year”?
A “CPD year” is defined as a 12-month period preceding the renewal of a licensee’s licence. The exact timing of this period is designed for convenience, ensuring that the CPD requirement coincides with the licence renewal process. This means you only need to notify the OFT once as part of the renewal process, avoiding unnecessary administrative burdens.

How to meet your CPD Requirements?
You may achieve your CPD requirements in four (4) easy steps:

  1. Find your licence or registration issue date. Your licence or registration issue date is printed on your current licence or registration. If you hold multiple licences or if you hold both a licence and a registration, use the one with the earliest issue date.
  2. Check your CPD Year by using the OFT CPD Calculator Page to check your exact CPD dates. Otherwise feel free to contact us on 0754 388 922 and one of our team members will be happy to assist you.
  3. Choose two (2) of our Type One (1) CPD sessions. Our sessions don’t just tick the compliance box — they equip you with skills you can use immediately and are focused on:
    • Legal compliance & ethical standards: Stay on top of regulatory changes and avoid costly mistakes.
    • Risk management & professional conduct: Protect yourself and your business.
    • Leadership, Sales & Communication: Stand out in a competitive market.
  4. Keep a record. CPD will issue you a certificate of completion after each session that you must keep for 5 years and produce it to the OFT or a representative on request.

CPD for New Licensees
New licensees who receive their first licence after June 2025 are exempt from CPD requirements for the first year. Since they have just completed their initial training, their first CPD year will start one year after their licence is granted. This gives new entrants ample time to settle into their roles without the immediate pressure of additional training.

Reporting CPD Completion
CPT will issue you a certificate of completion. When renewing your licence, you will simply tick a box on the application form to declare CPD completion. There’s no need to submit certificates or additional paperwork at the time of renewal, streamlining the process. However, the OFT will record your declaration and may verify compliance during subsequent visits. False declarations can lead to compliance actions, including possible loss of licence. You will be required to keep your proof of completion for at least 5 years in case the OFT requests it. If you lose your certificate CPT can re-issue you a replacement copy (fees apply).
