Neuroscience in real estate training is helping Complete Property Training explore new ways to make learning more interactive, engaging and effective.
The team at Complete Property Training was fortunate to run the first of four sessions with microbehavioural neuroscientist and forensic linguist Allan Parker.
The topic was understanding how the brain learns, and how to make training more interactive and engaging.
As one of Australia’s largest face-to-face real estate training providers, we understand the importance of getting students into the classroom, giving them a foundation of knowledge and skills that prepares them for the workplace.
The intensive one-hour session was held via Zoom, with a real focus on making CPT’s own Zoom sessions more interactive and engaging — and on how those techniques carry across just as well into the physical classroom.
One of the key takeaways for Director Beau Robinson was how interactive, engaging training supports short- and long-term memory, helping ensure information and skills land in a way that’s more likely to stick. He also noted that asking a question resets a student’s attention — a small trigger that plays a real role in training and retention.
As Lisa McNiven, National Head of Training, put it:
“Allan reminded us not only of our why — why we love doing what we do — but the importance of understanding our students’ why, and how that shapes their learning. We’re always striving to make our workshops interactive and engaging, so having even more tools in the toolkit to help our students get the most from every session has been fantastic.”
Director Beau Robinson is passionate about face-to-face training and has worked with Allan Parker for over five years.
This session reaffirms Complete Property Training’s mission — to make people more capable, competent, and confident through training and education — and our vision: to make training interactive, engaging, and enjoyable, because that’s when and how we learn best.
