Auctioneer Course Delivers Outstanding Results

Current business owner and Director of Complete Property Training, Beau Robinson, who is passionate about training, reflects on our recent Auctioneers Licence course.

Earlier this week, I watched something special unfold in our auctioneer’s course.

We brought in Justin Nickerson from Apollo Auctions to facilitate part of the training. Justin has won state’s best auctioneer multiple times. He doesn’t just know the theory—he lives it.

The room was diverse. Fiona, a Principal from West End. Alex, a Stock and Station Agent from Goondiwindi with 20 years under his belt. Young auctioneers just starting out. What struck me wasn’t just the teaching. It was what Fiona said afterward: “I really enjoyed Justin’s session yesterday, but particularly loved speaking to the other guys in the class… It was heaps of fun.”

That’s the thing about face-to-face training. You learn from the instructor, sure. But you also learn from the person sitting next to you who’s solved the exact problem you’re facing.

Alex called it the best training he’s been to in two decades. That means something when you’ve seen as much as he has.

One of our upcoming auctioneers put it simply: “Having Justin Nickerson come in from Apollo was an absolute delight. He was insightful, informative and has the ability to share his craft with others very easily.”

The course ran two to three days depending on qualifications. Intensive, yes. But that’s how real skills get built—when you commit the time, show up, and learn from people who’ve actually done it.

This is what we mean by structure, support, and industry expertise. Not just checking boxes. Actually preparing people for what’s ahead.
