Salespeople and property manager’s certificate
In order to work as a Property Manager or a salesperson, you need to complete the Real Estate Salespersons Registration Certificate Course. There is no differentiation between the qualification needed in Queensland to become a Property Manager or work as a Salesperson.
You must complete the course through a Registered Training Organization like Complete Property Training before you can apply to the Office of Fair Trading Queensland for your Certificate.
It is also important to note that holders of a Real Estate Certificate must work for a Licensee or Principal of a Real Estate business. You cannot work independently unless you hold a Full Agents Licence, meaning you cannot run your own business if you only hold the Certificate.
There are 7 units of competency required to be completed before you can apply for your Certificate. These are:-
- CPPDSM4008A Identify legal and ethical requirements of property sales to complete agency work
- CPPDSM4009A Interpret legislation to complete agency work
- CPPDSM4010A Lease property
- CPPDSM4012A List property for sale
- CPPDSM4015A Minimise agency and consumer risk
- CPPDSM4022A Sell and finalise the sale of property by private treaty
- CPPDSM4080A Work in the real estate industry.
Upon the successful completion of your course we will issue you with a Statement of Attainment which needs to be submitted to the Office of Fair Trading Queensland, along with a PAMD Form 3. This Form can be downloaded from the OFT website.
The fee payable to the Office of Fair Trading Queensland is $265.20 for 1 year or you can opt for a 3 year Certificate which costs $445.55. There is also a $35.90 criminal history check which is required (correct as at February 2012).
The processing time for Applications is 4- 6 weeks and you must be over 18 years of age to be able to hold a Salesperson Certificate.
Complete Property Training holds 2.5 day intensive Salespersons Certificate courses regularly in every major centre in Queensland
